Luo ostrich plume headdress

The Luo traditional headdress of ostrich feathers, animal fur, and hippo tusks was mostly for ceremonial purposes such as during the tero buru ceremony (driving away death). Much simpler headdresses were worn during war and were made of fewer ostrich feathers and animal fur.
